Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ogbomoso zone of Oyo State have pledged to deliver overwhelming votes for President Bola Tinubu and the party in the 2027 general elections.
The pledge was made during a high-powered unity rally held at Oja’gbo, Ogbomoso, which drew a large turnout of party leaders, serving and former political office holders, and members of the Oyo State Executive Council. The rally was led by the state APC Chairman, Alhaji Olaide Abass, and highlighted renewed unity and determination within the party to reclaim political dominance in the state.
Among the prominent figures at the event were Senators Abdulfatai Buhari, Sarafadeen Alli, Yunus Akintunde, Ayoade Adeseun and Hosea Agboola; former Oyo State First Lady and ambassador-designate, Mrs Florence Ajimobi; former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare; as well as Hon. Akeem Adeyemi, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, Hon. Olaminuwonlo Alao-Akala, Prince Williams Adeleye and other party chieftains.
In his welcome address, Hon. Odebunmi described Ogbomoso as a historic stronghold of progressive politics and assured supporters that the APC would intensify mobilisation and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 polls to strengthen its presence across the state.
Former state party chairman, Chief Akin Oke, urged members to maintain unity, stressing that the party had endured years in opposition and must now work collectively to return to power in Oyo State in 2027.
Delivering the keynote address, Senator Teslim Folarin, Oyo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, called on party members to aggressively promote President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots. He charged them to educate voters on what he described as the administration’s competence, quality leadership and vision.
“Our gathering today clearly shows that the APC in Oyo State is united, focused and fully aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Folarin said, adding that the party would mobilise across wards and communities at the appropriate time to secure victory in 2027.
In her remarks, Mrs Ajimobi appealed for sustained unity and peaceful coexistence among party members, expressing confidence that the APC remains the strongest political force in the state. She said stakeholders were committed to maintaining harmony to ensure President Tinubu’s re-election and the party’s return to Agodi Government House.
The rally concluded with the formal endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term and the reception of hundreds of defectors from other political parties. The new members came from Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Oriire, Ogo-Oluwa and Surulere local government areas, further boosting the APC’s support base in the zone.
