The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Kankarofi, has officially received newly posted Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) into the state command, stressing the need for discipline, integrity, and accountability in their duties.
The reception, disclosed by the command’s spokesperson CSP William Aya, provided an opportunity for CP Kankarofi to personally welcome the officers and brief them on expectations for their new roles. He described the newly posted ASPs as a “renewed hope” for the reform and advancement of the Nigeria Police Force.
Addressing the officers, Kankarofi urged them to approach their responsibilities with seriousness, dedication, and a strong commitment to public service. He emphasized the importance of upholding the core principles of policing while navigating the challenges of maintaining public safety and enforcing the law.
The commissioner highlighted the need to build community trust, reminding the officers that professionalism and excellence should guide all interactions with the public. “There is no room for indiscipline; your conduct must reflect the high standards of the force,” he said.
In response, the new ASPs expressed gratitude to CP Kankarofi and pledged to uphold the ethics and standards expected of their positions.
